Requirements practices are changing–RAPIDLY! The dramatic changes in the business and technology space push us to be continuous learners. What are you doing to keep up with ever-evolving requirements practices?

There are three primary factors converging to instigate change:

Increasing Complexity: Complexity comes from business practices, compliance requirements, technology layers and partnerships. As organizations evolve, solutions are layered upon solutions. Large, archaic legacy systems are piled high with new features, new platforms, new hardware, new third-party software, new in-house software, etc. Each new layer adds another level of complexity that increases potential risk. Organizations need people who can help stakeholders collaborate and wade through complexity.

Increasing Ambiguity: With increased complexity, comes the need to get comfortable with ambiguity. The days of defining detailed requirements in a single phase at the beginning of a project are over. Speeding to clarity when the project problem domain is complex can spell disaster. Organizations need people who have mastered the art of balance between ambiguity and clarity–people who help stakeholders get comfortable with ambiguity, but know when to dive in for clarity and details.

Increasing Interest in Agility: Executives seem to be buying in to agile as their approach for managing complexity and ambiguity. Getting more value from our projects is the main goal and BAs and Product Owners are at the center of making this happen! Traditional BAs are morphing into Agile BAs and Product Owners, often without support and/or training. Agile teams still “do requirements” but BAs and POs need to understand their role and develop the skills and techniques needed to succeed in their roles.

At BA-Squared we’ve always promoted modern, collaborative techniques and we are so excited to see our mindset gain traction in the industry. We want to help you stay ahead of the curve with 100+ hours of excellent, interactive training including:
